「不図の美学」woga・安藤光 二人展
The Artcomplex Center of Tokyo (ACT) in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is hosting the second joint exhibition “Fuzu no Bigaku” by woga and Ando Hikaru, who create detailed paintings. This exhibition delves into the question, “What are we really drawing?” as the two artists, who unconsciously create abstract detailed paintings, align their mutual understanding.
Woga and Ando Hikaru, while seemingly similar, approach their art in different ways. Woga has a desire to express natural phenomena and landscapes, but not just by drawing them as they are. Instead, Woga aims for a sensory and conceptual expression that has passed through their own body, one method of which is the attempt to “unconsciously draw small shapes repeatedly”. On the other hand, Ando Hikaru finds that when he draws fine parts by chance and unconsciously, they converge into something that contains fractal elements that exist in nature and cannot be mathematically defined.
This exhibition is a unique opportunity to enjoy the world of these two artists, each drawn with a different approach. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in their unconscious abstract detailed paintings and explore the question, “What are we really drawing?” It’s sure to be an enlightening and inspiring experience.
